Using this Guide
This guide consists of very short descriptions of some – but by no means all – of the civil claims for damages recognized in the District of Columbia. It is intended for general, informational purposes to help citizens understand the gist of each claim. It does not describe all of the legal principles and standards applicable to each claim. It does not constitute legal advice, and is not a substitute for consulting with a competent, licensed lawyer. Additionally, it does not provide guidance about the laws of any jurisdiction other than the District of Columbia.
I have extensive knowledge and experience in the area of civil litigation, and am a member in good standing of the District of Columbia Bar. If you need legal advice or representation in Washington, D.C., please send an inquiry to me by e-mail.
